Fire station in Úsilné

Fire station in Úsilné 2016

The new fire station is one of the results of the gradual implementation of the Architectural Concept, which we developed for Úsilné in 2012 and which we are gradually fulfilling in its individual parts. We had started with a multi-purpose playground, continued with the fire station and we are preparing other buildings for the construction.

The new fire station stands on the periphery of the village next to the old fire station, which was always more of a background for athletes and other associations than a real fire station.

The fire station serves the Úsilné Volunteer Firefighters. The Volunteer Firefighters are a large association with many voluntary activities. So they need not only a garage, a workshop, but also a large common room where they hold meetings, install children’s bouncy castles, exhibitions and in the meantime park the old red and white Avia.

We have designed a building that does not raise expectations in terms of scale or appearance. It hides inside generous garage / hall spaces, smaller common rooms, workshops and facilities. Lapidary floor plan free of ballast. Gray concrete masonry, unsealed joints, rough seams and red floor.

School workshops in Pilníkov

School workshops in Pilníkov 2018

It is the new building of school workshops, which consists of three parts – hall, background and greenhouse. The hall area is divided into parts of different sizes. Workshops are situated it the bigger part and in the smaller parts a training kitchen is set. Alternatively, the hall can become a social hall and the whole building can be transformed into a cultural house.

The building is designed in basic volumes and with a flat roof. Their different heights are unified by an oversized ledge. The hall is moved to the second plan.

The morphology of the building follows the industrial buildings of the Krkonoše Mountains.

New Multifunctional Center of the Municipality of Miloslavov (SK)

New Multifunctional Center of the Municipality of Miloslavov (SK) 2019

In a number of projects, we work on the design of small settlement centers. We think about their physical form in relation to the life that happens in them. These are urban planning projects, studies of public spaces, street reconstruction designs, architectural concepts of municipalities, projects of major municipal and urban institutions.

In this case, the design deals with a new Slovak city near Bratislava. In the area of the Danubian Lowland, a flat area with no clear landmarks, to which we are usually accustomed in our work. The design is about defining the centre, the identity of the new city, which absorbs the two current towns into itself.
