Construction of the Andromeda apartment complex

Construction of the Andromeda apartment complex 2019

This is a design of the residential complex of 500 flats in the vicinity of the KVP housing estate on the outskirts of Košice. Three lines are inserted into the sloping terrain of the area. Two lines of houses and one line of the street between them. The curves of the lines respond to the shape and morphology of the plot. The line of towers is adjacent to the tall high-rise blocks, the line of lower apartment buildings is adjacent to the park in the valley. The park square is located in the southern part of the design. The whole development culminates towards Moskevská třída, where the height of the towers reaches the height of the neighboring buildings. The line of towers leaves the possibility of vistas, the line of low houses leaves the possibility of passage.

The layout of houses offers a high quality of a wide range of apartments, the vast majority of which are oriented in two directions and all have a loggia.

Education Center Rudolfinum

Education Center Rudolfinum 2019

Currently, the Education Center uses Suk Hall for its programs. However, this complicates the use of the hall, which is intended primarily for music production, places higher demands on the preparation of the hall and the transport of things needed for the events. At the same time, however, those who attend the program find themselves in the generous and beautiful premises of Rudolfinum. They enter the building by a representative staircase, meet in a large hall and spend most of their time in Suk Hall. This spatial and dramatic experience is an essential part of the participants experience.

We therefore consider it crucial to design the premises of the Education Center, so that they are able to compete as much as possible with the current experience that the participants of the program have.

We present a design that will make the Education Center an autonomous and distinctive part of the building with a clear operating scheme and spatial qualities that develop the dominant structure of the building.

Apartment House for Social Housing in Pilníkov

Apartment House for Social Housing in Pilníkov 2018

The design of the apartment building must meet the subsidy requirements for the construction of social housing. The contour track of the house is identical on three sides to the boundaries of the building plot. After verifying possible layouts, we propose a space-saving option of a three-storey building with a basement. In doing so, we endeavour, with regard to the northern neighbour, to extend only slightly the property towards the garden.

Dispositions are largely limited by the size of the plot and by the housing sizes determined by the subsidy requirements. The internal common areas are designed economically, while maintaining the optimal dimensions of staircases and corridors. The lift meets the standard dimensions for barrier-free use. The staircase and the elevator are located to the north gable wall.

The main entrance is located on the ground floor. An access corridor leads to one-bedroom apartments. On the 1st floor there are two apartments with a size of three-room apartment. On the second floor, the flats are divided asymmetrically into larger four-room apartments and smaller two-room apartment. All flats have the possibility to be transformed into barrier-free areas. They have adequate dimensioned corridors, doorways and even bathrooms. The layout of the 1st and 2nd floors can be swapped or used in only one of the solutions for both floors. This decision may be taken by the investor in further stages of the project, as appropriate.

Kindergarten in Pilníkov

Kindergarten in Pilníkov 2018

The original task was to expand the capacity of the current kindergarten in Pilníkov by one class, i.e. by 25 children, including all other related operations and facilities. However, the reconstruction of the existing kindergarten situated in the original stately villa proved to be too complicated and uneconomical in terms of costs. Therefore, together with the representatives of the city, we selected a more suitable plot and designed a new kindergarten building. The existing villa will be used as a residential building.

The new building is a two-storey building with a simple block shape. The building is divided into quarters by transverse central axis, while on the ground floor there is one kindergarten unit in one quarter and in the other are facilities of the kindergarten with a kitchen. On the first floor there are two remaining units.

The maximum capacity of the kindergarten is 75 children, divided into 3 units with a maximum of 25 children. The facilities are dimensioned in relation to the number of children.
